US' textiles & apparel imports down 3.58% in January-June 2024

In the first half of ****, apparel imports, which make up the bulk of US textile imports, fell by *.** per cent to $**.*** billion, compared to $**.*** billion in the same period of ****. Non-apparel imports, however, rose by *.** per cent to $**.*** billion, as reported by the US Department of Commerce&#**;s Major Shippers Report.

Among the top ** suppliers, Cambodia was the only country to see an increase in apparel imports, growing by *.** per cent. In contrast, significant declines were noted from Mexico (down **.** per cent) and Bangladesh (down **.** per cent). Imports also fell from Indonesia (*.** per cent), China (*.** per cent), and India (*.** per cent).
