Varteks d.d., Croatia’s leading clothing manufacturing company with a nationwide sales network of fashion stores, has sold its 17.12 per cent stake in Cateks, one of the largest textile companies in Croatia and one of the oldest in the southeastern part of Europe. The companies have not disclosed the name of the buyer and the value of the deal.

In a statement to the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE), Varteks said it has sold the 42,155 shares it owned in Cateks via a sales agreement outside the official stock exchange market. Varteks held the shares via its Varazdin-based unit V-Projekt d.o.o.

Cateks has three production centres—fabric and fabric finishing, coating and laminating, and garments. The company also manufactures technical fabrics and special purpose materials.
