Walmart India’s president and CEO Krish Iyer has been elected as the new chairperson of the National Executive Board of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), an association of American businesses operating in India. He was elected at the Board’s meeting held on April 26. Kenneth I Juster, the US ambassador to India, is the president of AMCHAM.

Having Iyer as the chairperson will help AMCHAM enhance its role as a mediator between US companies in India and various stakeholders, said a media agency quoting Ranjana Khanna, director general and CEO of AMCHAM.
Besides the new chairperson, the Board also elected Atul Dhawan, partner at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP as the secretary and treasurer, while Arun Kumar, chairman and CEO, KPMG India and Kaku Nakhate, president and country head (India) of Bank of America have been elected as the vice chairpersons.
