UK-based Worn Again Technologies, which is currently running pilot plant quantities to validate the steps of its recycling process and output quality, anticipates its first commercial plants will be designed to convert 50,000 tonnes of end-of-life textiles into valuable polymers a year, according to its chief executive officer Keith Wiggins.

The yield of each plant will be set at industrially competitive levels, he told Fibre2Fashion in an interview.

“The industrialisation of our process will be of interest to potential customers across the textile supply chain,” he added.
