In Italy, the seasonally and calendar adjusted, chained volume measure of gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 0.5 per cent quarter-over-quarter (QoQ) in the third quarter (Q3) of 2022, according to a preliminary estimate by the Italian National Institute of Statistics (Istat). It increased by 2.6 per cent over the same quarter of the previous year. The quarter-on-quarter change is the result of a decrease of value added in both agriculture, forestry and fishing and industry, whereas the service activities recorded an increase. From the demand side, there is a positive contribution by the domestic component (gross of change in inventories) and a negative one by the net export component, Istat said.
The carry-over annual GDP growth for 2022 is equal to 3.9 per cent.
