Net profit rises 34.42% in 9 months at Grasim

Grasim Industries, an India based textile manufacturer and a flagship company of Aditya Birla Group, reported a surge of 34.42 per cent in its net profit in the first three quarters of fiscal 2015-16, ending on December 31, to Rs 1,663.06 crore as compared to Rs 1,237.12 crore in the corresponding period of fiscal 2014-15, according to a press statement released by the company.

Total net income from operations in the first nine months of this fiscal was reported to be Rs 26,635.62 crore as compared to Rs 24,021.02 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal, reflecting a rise of 10.88 per cent.

Total expenses for this period were reported to be Rs 23,327.20 crore as compared to Rs 21,570.55 crore last fiscal, reflecting a rise of 8.14 per cent.

Segment-wise, the viscose staple fibre and wood pulp division at Grasim reported a total net income of Rs 5,505.68 crore in this period as compared to Rs 4,877.56 crore, reflecting a rise of 12.87 per cent.

Caustic soda and other allied chemicals division reported a rise of 94.86 per cent in its net income during this period to Rs 2,479.94 crore as compared to Rs 1,272.65 crore in the prior year. (MCJ)
