Inflation rate for the week ended January 7 stood at 4.24 percent, registering a fall of 0.16 percent compared to previous week; the decline being mainly contributed by textiles.
Wholesale Price Index (WPI) for all commodities (Base 1993-94) for the week ended January 7 rose by 0.1 percent.
Annual inflation rate stood at 5.77 percent during the corresponding week of the previous year.
The index for the textiles group was 129.5 compared to 130.2 for the previous week, a fall of 0.5 percent, due to lower prices of tyre cord which was 13 percent, texturised yarn was 5 percent, synthetic yarn was 4 percent and acrylic yarn, 1 percent.
The prices of woollen cloth moved up 7 percent and hessian and sacking bags, viscose staple fibre and hessian cloth moved up 1 percent each.
Index for primary articles was 194.7 compared to 194.4 for the previous week a rise of 0.2 percent.
However, the prices of raw silk and raw wool went down 2 percent each.
Index for fuel, power, light and lubricants which was 311.1 in previous week recorded 311.2 this week due to higher prices of bitumen and naphtha.
Manufactured products index went up by 0.1 per cent to 172.2 from 172.1 of previous week.
