Ministry of Trade reported that Textile and apparel export turnover in January and February 2006 grew 45.5 percent over 2004 period to reach US $867 million.
This represented the highest growth rate in several recent years.
Vietnam has exported ready-made garments to many countries, with the US being the top export destination.
In first two months of 2006 the US market accounted for $314,185,403 worth of garment exports.
Underwear exports to the US have been registering steady growth yielding $160 million in 2005, 20 percent rise over 2004 and 75 percent year-on-year growth.
