Producer's Prices Index up 5.9% in Feb

The continuous price increases are remarkable with some non-ferrous metals.

Copper and copper semi-finished material increased in price in February 2006 in relation to the previous month by 5,4 percent, the prices lie now by 44,3 percent over the conditions of the previous year.

With aluminum and aluminum semi-finished material the appropriate price increase rates were with + 4.2 percent and/or with +10,1 percent.

Apart from the specified price increases with the sources of energy and with Nichteisen­metallen in February 2006 significant price increases were determined in relation to the appropriate previous year month with the following kinds of goods:

Tabak­erzeugnisse (+ 7.2 percent), inorganic raw materials and chemicals (+ 6.9 percent), organic raw materials and chemicals (+ 4.9 percent), products of publishing house (+ 2.3 percent), motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts (+ 1.9 percent) as well as Metaller­zeugnisse (+ 1.2 percent).

More cheaply than before period of one year were against it electronic elements (- 16.4 percent, among them integrated circuits - 33.2 percent) electronically, Datenverarbei­tungsgeraete and mechanisms (- 16.0 percent), communications-engineering devices and mechanisms (- 15.1 percent) as well as rolled steel (- 4.6 percent).

In the comparison to the previous month above all heavy fuel oil (+ 8.0 percent) increased in price, metallic secondary raw materials (+ 5.4 percent), plastics in primary forms (+ 1.3 percent), meat (without poultry) (+0,9 percent), organic raw materials and chemicals (+ 0.9 percent), rolled steel (+0,6 percent), paper, pasteboard and goods from it (+0,5 percent) as well as motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts (+ 0.2 percent).

Sinking prices in the comparison to January 2006 were to be registered particularly with the following products:

communications-engineering devices and mechanisms (- 3.1 percent), Datenverarbei­tungsgeraete and mechanisms (- 1.5 percent), gasoline (- 1.3 percent), products of publishing house (- 0.8 percent) as well as Diesels (- 0.4 percent).
