Shima Seiki earns 2.7bn yen net income in Q1 FY'13

Shima Seiki Manufacturing Ltd., the Japan-based manufacturer of computerized knitting machines and other peripheral equipment, has grossed a net income of 2.712 billion yen during the three months ending June 30, 2013.
 
The company’s net sales grew 38.1 percent year-on-year to 12.231 billion yen during the April-June 2013 quarter of the current financial year, according to the financial results for the first quarter released by the company.
 
The operating income of the firm rose to 1.743 billion yen during the quarter under review, showing a sharp 851.7 percent growth compared to operating income of 183 million yen registered during the corresponding quarter of previous year.
 
The company earned net income of 2.712 billion yen during the first quarter compared to a loss of 1.068 billion registered during the same period last year.
 
The company expects its net income to grow by 128 percent year-on-year to 4 billion yen during the current financial year ending March 31, 2014.
