The index for 'Machinery & Machine Tools' group declined by 0.1 percent to 148.7 (Provisional) from 148.8 (Provisional) for the previous week due to lower prices of picture tubes (colour) (9 percent) and tv sets(colour) (4 percent).
Final Index for the Week Ended 28th January 2006
For the week ended 28/01/2006, the final wholesale price index for 'All Commodities' (Base:1993-94=100) stood at 195.9 as against 196.4 (Provisional) and annual rate of inflation based on final index, calculated on point to point basis, stood at 4.04 percent as against 4.30 percent (Provisional) respectively reported earlier vide press note dated 10/02/2006.
