Indonesian businessmen's visit gives fillip to cotton & textiles trade

A business delegation from Indonesia has promised to import 50,000 to 100,000 tons of cotton, after paying a visit to the Eastern Cape .
This delegation visited the province to promote trade in various sectors between Indonesia and South Africa.
Delegation insisted on the local Government to establish favorable atmosphere for foreign investment.
Haryono Eddyarto, Chairman of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry said, "It's a matter of what we can give you and what we can get from you - at the end both must benefit."
Delegation sought opportunities in the sectors like cotton and textile, glassware production, arts and crafts.
They also examined industrial growth points to develop existing business.
Dr Sibongile Mutwa, the Eastern Cape's Director General, said, “We are putting in place the facilitative mechanism so that our chambers here are able to communicate with the Indonesian chamber at national and State levels."
They considered this visit very positive and hoped that the visit will open several areas of business cooperation.
