Second quarter net profit of leading Korean textile and apparel maker, Cheil Industries Inc. has gone down by 8.1 percent at 38.7 billion won ($40.6 million).
Although the company has registered increase in its operating profit by 37.9 percent reaching 53.8 billion won and 11.9 percent increase in sales at 689.7 billion won.
Sales rise has been attributed to rise in exports from its chemical business and an increasing sale of its high-end fashion brand.
Cheil Industries is a subsidiary of Samsung Group, South Korea's largest business group.
