During the first half 2006, Vietnamese textile and apparel entrepreneurs imported US $58.7 million worth of label for its domestic production, registering a 43.7 percent year–on–year rise.
Hong Kong ranked the biggest supplier during the period.
Meanwhile, fibre imports dropped two percent and 8.4 percent in terms of volume and value, respectively.
Importing price, during the period reached around $1,000–1,649 per ton, of which Thailand quoted price between $1,063 and 1,229 per ton, while Taiwan and Korea quoted price at $1,131–1,289 per ton and $1,247–1,649 per ton respectively.
