Lake Como silk garments safe for health

Good quality of silk products made in Italy, especially those from Lake Como region, is globally matchless. Lake Como companies with 'Seri.co' certification protect customer's health and offer high material standards.

It was concluded by a thorough study, sponsored by Industrial Union and Experimental Station for Silk, that Como products are safe for buyers. This study was conducted by Como Textile Laboratory on composition of silk garments made in India, China and non-European nations.

A sample of silk garments found in the market at all major stores was studied. These garments, comprising of clothes, accessories and innerwear, were imported or unlabeled.

Out of total 82 items, 39 percent were unlabeled, 23.2 percent had Chinese labels and 14.6 percent had other origins.

It was analyzed from results that percentage of samples did not satisfy legal requirements. 25.6 percent did not satisfy compulsory rules for labelling fiber composition, 15.8 percent did not satisfy carcinogenic colouring needs, while 9.8 percent did not satisfy both.

Total 52.1 percent of samples did not satisfy legal demands. Of these, 25.6 percent samples were unlabeled, 17.1 percent were Indian, 2.4 percent were Chinese and 6.1 percent had other origins. 35.4 percent of samples did not comply with their labels.
