A recent survey reveals that most domestic textile and apparel enterprises have not satisfied international standards for exporting goods, including ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and SA 8000.
This unfortunate information was revealed by Professor, Doctor Nguyen Quang Toan, Director, International Quality Center (IQC), Chairman, Ho Chi Minh city Quality Association and President, Vietnam ISO club, that gives warning signals to textile and apparel industry that thrives for international, regional integration and increasing trade liberalization.
“In order to export textile and apparel goods, the world market requires enterprises to apply and satisfy international standards of ISO 9000, Iso 14000 and SA 8000. However, so far in Vietnam there are just about 20 enterprises meeting these”, Quang Toan said.
