A blaze flared up at an Alcoy riverbed edge in the early hours on December 6, 2006, which spread to an adjacent textile unit. Entire factory along with labourer's property was destroyed.
Fire was brought under control in five hours, thanks to extensive efforts by numerous fire fighters. Luckily no one suffered any burns or injuries.
The fire is said to have destroyed almost 300 square meters of ready-for-distribution cloth. Meanwhile, factory sources are estimating the quantum of damage and the quantity of cloth in the plant that can still be sold.
