Banglacraft urges Govt to resolve packing material crises
16 Feb '07
1 min read
Recently, members of Banglacraft have requested Government to resolve the problem of packing material.
Packing material polythene bags are basic requirement for exports of handicrafts.
As Government has restricted marketing and manufacturing of polythene, exports of handicrafts have drastically reduced.
Big exporters like BGMEA have facility of importing packing material on letter of credit.
However, letter of credit issued against import order of handicraft is usually very less.
Due to these problems, members of
Banglacraft
are facing serious problems and exports of handicraft are declining significantly.
