In January to May 2007, above-scale textile enterprises accumulated a total industrial output value of over 1.1 trillion yuan, an increase of 23.95 percent. The total sales volume touched 1.09 trillion yuan, up 24.3 percent. Production and market rate achieved 97.28 percent, a boost of 0.23 percent over the same period of previous year.
Production growth of manufactured products, chemical fiber, textile machinery industries was faster than national industrial average growth level, representing 24.01, 29.85 and 31.62 percent respectively, giving a rise to entire industrial production.
Statistics reveal, from January to May 2007, above-scale textile enterprises output represented 9.37 million tons of chemical fiber, giving a rise of 17.9 percent over the same time last year, showing 2.4 percent growth rate than the corresponding time last year.
Total yarn output amounted to 7.41 million tons, up 20.6 percent, with growth rate showing 2.3 percent faster. Cloth production scored 18.8 billion meters, an increase of 12.2 percent, but 1.9 percent low rise rate against same period last year. Total apparel output amounted to 7.18 billion pieces, a boost of 14.5 percent, with 3.2 percent increase rate.
