From January to June 2007, the accumulated value of above-scale textile enterprises in Jiangsu Province increased 22.6 percent over the same time of last year, two percentage points less in growth rate of the first quarter.
Among them, clothing, knitwear, silk fabrics and textile products grew faster than the average industry level, representing a rise of 27.7 percent, 26.1 percent, 24.8 percent and 23.4 percent respectively.
Output of all major products demonstrated a steady growth, except silk products, which dropped 6.2 percent in production on year.
During this period, production and sales ratio reached 97.7 percent, up 0.1 percent over the same time last year.
Influenced by the adjustment in export rebate policy and yuan revaluation, textile and apparel export growth of Jiangsu Province showed a slow fall.
Total textile and garment export value of Jiangsu Province rose 10.7 percent over the same period last year, 6.6 percentage points below the increase level of the corresponding time last year.
