Shishi city's economic situation shows that from January to July this year, output of above-scale textile and garment enterprises touched 10.46 billion yuan, an increase of 24.4 percent, accounting for 62 percent of the city's industrial production value.
This output accounts for 82.3 percent of the annual output value of 2005, which stood at 12.71 billion yuan.
As Shishi thrives on its textile and garment industry, a number of intensive industrial zones like Baogai clothing supplements industrial district, Shishi chemical fiber products base, Shishi spinning industry base, West Banjiang pants industrial park, Shi Hu port maritime industry, have gradually formed industrial climate by emerging as northern coastal textile economy area.
Shishi dyeing, printing and washing enterprises are actively introducing advanced, cutting-edge dyeing equipment, conducting technical transformation by focusing on post-finishing equipments to resolve key technical problems in value-added products.
