DOC seeks Labor ministry help to counter job losses

While Government of India is still considering on relief measures to be taken for exporters hit by rupee appreciation, the instances of unemployment and shut down of industrial units are on a rapid increase.
In view of these unfortunate circumstances, the Department of Commerce (DOC) has sought the help of the Ministry of Labor and Employment to scrutinize the ground situation of job losses.
Government emphasis on textile industry is the most since the sector employs over 25 million workers.
