Textile store turns into ashes

Mode Alive textile store in Curepe, lost nearly US $57 million worth stock and infrastructure in an accidental fire that started on November 25. The mishap leaves more than 64 employees jobless.

Owner of Mode Alive, Mr Gary Aboud noted that the fire started at about 3.15 pm in the warehouse of Southern Main Road building.

Luckily no one was hurt, although, there were nearly 100 customers and several other employees present at that time.

While talking to reporters, Mr Aboud grieved over a year old operation catching fire, causing him great loss.

Mr Aboud, however, expressed disappointments with the Government who failed to provide fire officers with adequate equipments.
