Shandong Province celebrates its hike in textile exports

Export value of textile and clothes of Shandong Province, in the first quarter of 2008 reached US $3.31 billion registering an increase of 13.5 percent in the corresponding period last year.

In January alone, export value surged by 15.8 percent while in February, the value declined by 1.1 percent. March again saw a rise of 26.3 percent.

In terms of products, the export value of textile reached $1.77 billion, up by 18.3 percent and accounted for 53.5 percent of the total. On the other hand, value of clothes was $1.54 billion went up by 8.6 percent accounting for 46.5 percent.

In terms of areas, exports to EU, Africa and Oceania increased by 29.2, 39.9 and 43.7 percent respectively. Moreover, exports to Japan grew by 8 percent whereas to America went up by 2.5 percent.
