Yakka Apparel Solutions, subsidiary of Melbourne-based workwear supplier Yakka, is supplier of the Defence Force's uniform. Now company is using RFID tags for correct size and to speed up the fitting of new recruits.

It fits as many as 200 recruits per day and about 1000 recruits for the navy, army and air force every year.

During late night, fitting data is entered into computers manually by Yakka staffs that has data entry errors.

To avoid such errors Yakka Apparel has hired services of Auckland IT consultancy Integral Technology Group which replaced the manual process with RFID tags stuck on the fitting garments.

Using RFID tags on fitting garments has reduced probability of errors considerably.

RFID bracelets having link with name are distributed among recruiters. These bracelets are scanned with tags on the clothes and information is sent to computers.
