Tracient researched 4 UHF module offerings before selecting SkyeTek's M9 because of its superior performance, form factor, features and its ability to cover the whole UHF RFID spectrum.
This allowed Tracient to develop one product that could be sold globally. SkyeTek's M9 Reader Module also enabled Tracient to overcome size constraints to provide a solution in their ergonomically designed handheld form factor.
"The retail industry continues to demonstrate a substantial need for the benefits RFID can provide beyond just supply chain tracking," said Rob Balgley, CEO of SkyeTek.
"By partnering with innovators like Tracient, we're helping to shape new applications for RFID that leverage investments in handheld computing technology to create a more streamlined and secure inventory process."
With SkyeTek's M9 delivering unparalleled UHF RFID price and performance for mobility, Tracient's Padl-R UF reader has debuted in apparel inventory counting applications in Singapore and has reduced stock-taking time from around 12 hours to 25 minutes, while achieving an accuracy of 99.9%.
Retailers indicate this massive reduction in labor time allows stocktaking to occur daily, reduces shrinkage and improves the staff and customer experience.
Most importantly, the initial trial indicated a payback period of less than one year. As a result, Tracient has seen traction in China, Canada, United States and Mexico due to SkyeTek's Global SKU support.
Based on SkyeTek's Advanced Universal Reader Architecture (AURA), the M9 leads the industry in UHF reader price-performance due to its SkyeOS software layer.
SkyeOS provides advanced reader intelligence that not only delivers adaptive behavior, broad tag support, and industry standard security, but also performs functions traditionally performed in hardware, allowing the M9 to achieve uncommon efficiencies in cost, performance, power consumption, and form factor.
