Dai Nippon Printing and Ozaki Shoji, in collaboration have built a new system which handles an entire individual cloth piece for wear products with the help of IC tags.
Ozaki is to launch this system at its plant in Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture from late November.
To record a material code of every cloth and to measure the width and remaining length in metre, a re-writable IC tag is fastened to every cloth.
The handy reader/writer is applied to write down the remaining length as data in the server when the cloth is supplied for stock or is cut.
With the use of this system, users can pick up the cloth from several others that matches perfect with their demands for size and length.
The tags can also be fastened at cloth shelves and cutting areas to trace the cloth.
Both companies will install the system at other Ozaki plants for use in tracking backing fabrics and other related clothing materials.
