Americans sleep their way thru Pakistani & Chinese pillow covers

Pakistan followed by China, and India remained a poor third as pillow cover exporters to the US, according to the provisional figures put up by the US Customs.
While the overall imports of pillow covers by the US climbed to 154494600 nos (0.90 M2 per nos.) in December 2005, the figure stood at 87342588 nos. in 2004 same month, indicating a 76.88 percent increase.
However, Pakistan topped the list of exporter countries with at 56385943 nos., while China took the second position at 34198531 nos. India was left way behind at 24448228 nos.
Meanwhile, Pakistan recorded a stupendous increase in export share by 418.88 percent in exports of pillow covers to the US while China stood a shade behind at 400.60 percent.
India stood third with only 51.32 percent share showing how long it requires to cover growund. Turkey took the fourth spot at 6686596 nos.
Notable losers were Egypt at 3701144 nos, recording a loss at -41.60 percent with Portugal down -37.92 percent at 4107203 nos., all figures provisional and compared with December 2004.
