The Textiles Ministry will increase the pay-out under one of the most successful government industrial scheme - Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS).
The subsidy under TUFS has been enhanced to Rs 10 billion to be paid over the next five years to the Indian textile industry.
The Ministry has aimed to modernize around 10 percent or around 200,000 powerlooms over the 12th Five-Year-Plan period.
