Bremen cotton remains same as last week

Bremen CIF Index reports that at the end of this reported week almost all price indices came close to the level of last week. Since there was a lack of fundamentally new tidings, prices were not given a certain direction.

Merchants reported on active demand and firm prices for especially long and extra-long staple cotton outside of Europe due to activities in Egypt. In Germany as well as adjoining countries the purchase behaviour was dominated by the company holidays in general.

There was some limited interest in short-term delivery, but contracts for delivery at the end of the year were hardly closed.

The medium staple range registered purchases of US EMOT for prompt, West African cotton for prompt as well as the 3rd to 4th quarter 2012 and Argentinean descriptions for prompt and the 3rd quarter 2012.

Long and extra-long staple cotton like Giza 86 and Giza 88 were sold for near dates as well as the 3rd quarter 2012.
