The Minister also directed that a virtual APEDA Centre be established at Nagpur. APEDA already has a full fledged office at Mumbai which has been functioning since 1990.
In the States where APEDA does not have a physical office, its activities are conducted in conjunction with the respective state Governments, through virtual offices.
Later at gathering of industry leaders from the Vidarbha and other regions of the State organized by CII Shri Sharma was apprised of the issues pertaining to Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN), an Airport cum SEZ.
Acknowledging the need to rework the SEZ scheme, Shri Sharma announced that a comprehensive review of the SEZ guidelines and fine tune them for retaining their attractiveness is underway.
