Bremen CIF Index reports that again the important price indices were swinging in a narrow band and overall the prices remained stable. In Far East European merchants recognized a good demand for nearby shipments and high qualities from Africa and other origins. In the domestic market cotton with an attractive price was still of interest.

Some spinning mills continued to cover needs for the time after company holidays until arrival of the new crop, but most of all the business was calm and turnover limited.

Contracts in the medium staple range were closed for cotton from Central Asia for prompt delivery, for West Africa for the 3rd up to 4th quarter 2012. Qualities from Greece and Spain were purchased for delivery in the 4th quarter 2012.

The only ELS origin of interest was Sudan, which was ordered for delivery in the 1st quarter 2013.
