Indian govt sanctions 21 new integrated textile parks

The Government of India has sanctioned 21 new textile parks under its Scheme for Integrated Textiles Park. The Government has clarified that currently there are no proposals pending sanction.
 
Once operational, the new parks are likely to generate 388,363 new employment opportunities, Minister of Textiles Anand Sharma informed the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament.
 
The newly approved textile parks include six in Maharashtra, four in Rajasthan, two each in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, and one each in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
 
These 21 parks are in addition to 40 textile parks that are already being or have been established under the Scheme for Integrated Textiles Park in the country.
