Month long Khadi Utsav takes off in Ahmedabad

Khadi Utsav 2013 - the annual month long fair took off on grand scale in Ahmedabad.  
 
The event was inaugurated by Shri Devendra Desai, Chairman, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) in presence of Mr Saurabh Patel, Minister of Energy, Village Industries, Mr Asit Vora, Mayor of Ahmedabad and Shri Vadibhai Patel, Chairman, Gujarat Khadi Vikas Board, Ahmedabad.
 
The event will showcase more than 270 exhibitors and their artisans and utilitarian hand crafted items include khadi textiles, clothing, etc. 
 
Khadi Utsav 2013 will remain open till February 28, 2013 for all to visit and visitors will get the opportunity to buy nature and eco friendly products from many Indian States.
 
This event  touches base on the Gandhian Philolosphy and espousing the spirit of Indian Freedom from foreign products. 
 
Khadi today is making waves not only from utility point of view but on the fashion front  too, and even further, providing livelihoods to millions residing in rural India.
