In December 2005 compared to December 2004, transport equipment grew by 11.3 percent in the euro-zone, but fell by 2.6 percent in the EU25.
Manufacturing of textiles and textile products rose by 7.6 percent and 6.0 percent respectively.
Chemicals and chemical products rose by 4.2 percent in the euro-zone and by 3.1 percent in the EU25. Machinery and equipment gained 3.9 percent in both zones.
In December 2005, and among the Member States for which data are available, total manufacturing working on orders rose in thirteen Member States and fell in four. The highest increases were registered in Ireland (+21.7 percent), France (+16.6 percent), Estonia (+14.4 percent), the Czech Republic (+11.9 percent) and Denmark (+10.9 percent). Decreases were recorded in Hungary (-9.0 percent), Malta (-7.4 percent), Poland (-3.9 percent) and Italy (-1.0 percent).
