Global cotton output likely to be 113.3 mn bales in 2005-06

Cotton Council International (Cotton USA) has released a report, the highlights of which are:

- '05-06 World production estimated at 113.3 million bales, down 7.0 million bales from '04-05

- '05-06 World mill use estimated at 116.2 million bales, 7.4 million bales above '04-05 world mill use

- '05-06 US mill use estimated at 5.9 million bales, down 790,000 bales from the '04-05 U.S. mill use.

- '05-06 US production at 23.7 million bales, 470,000 bales above '04-05 US production

- '05-06 US exports at 16.8 million bales

- '05-06 World ending stocks estimated at 53.3 million bales
