NCSU's 'Art to Wear 2006' to present 14 student textile designers

Two North Carolina State University (NCSU) colleges will present their annual fashion show “Collection: Art to Wear 2006.”

The 14 student designers are members of the Anni Albers program – a dual-degree program in design and textile and apparel technology – and were selected to present their designs.

The show will feature a variety of techniques from traditional fashion flat patterning to draping and tailoring. Experimental fiber and surface design work will also be used in the garment and accessory designs.

Who: Presented by NC State's College of Design and College of Textiles. The student directors are Ryan Wayne and Jonathan Gatlin.

The faculty advisors are Vita Plume, assistant professor of art and design, Dr. Cynthia Istook, associate professor of textile and apparel technology and management, and Dr. Traci May, assistant professor of textile and apparel technology and management.

When: Friday, April 7, at 8 p.m. In case of rain, the event will be held in Brooks Hall.

Where: Kamphoefner Courtyard, which is located between Kamphoefner and Brooks halls off Pullen Road on the NC State campus.
