Carol to show Tapestry Crochet on PBS station

Tapestry crochet is similar to regular crochet, except that one or more yarns are carried while another is crocheted. The finished pieces look woven instead of crocheted.

Carol will show how to tapestry crochet the beaded basket on the right on Creative Living with Sheryl Borden. This show will be available to your PBS station on April 2nd – but check your local listing to see what day and time it will be aired in your area.

Carol was taped for three segments, so be on the lookout for the other two (about the history of tapestry crochet and about designing with tapestry crochet), which will be included in two future shows.

Tapestry crochet is relatively easy and inexpensive; a perfect vehicle for introducing fiber art to students. It takes more time than money to create beautiful, original pieces.

Colorful patterns and intricate or simple motifs can be worked out with special graphs. Students may then incorporate their own designs into a variety of projects. They will learn about design, color, and fiber art.
