Oeko-Tex unveils new 'Standard 100plus' certificate

The OEKO-TEX Standard 100plus identifies textiles which were tested for possible harmful substances and produced exclusively in environmentally friendly and socially responsible manufacturing facilities.

As a combination of the two certifications according to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and OEKO-TEX STeP (Sustainable Textile Production), the label therefore offers textile and clothing manufactures the option of drawing consumers' attention to textile items which are not harmful to their health as well as to the company's dedication to environmental protection and socially acceptable working conditions – with just one label.

The prerequisite for product certification according to OEKO-TEX Standard 100plus is the proof that the entire production chain – i.e. all companies involved in the production of a certain end product – meets the requirements of the OEKO-TEX STeP certification without exceptions.
