The Viet Nam Textile and Garment Association (Vitas) plans to start eight national trade promotion programmes with an investment of about $925,000 from State budget in second quarter, this year.
The association plans to use the funds to establish a representative office and a showroom in Germany, take part in exhibitions and fairs in the United States, Germany, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and send delegations to the US and Spain to seek business opportunities.
The programmes will focus on training technicians and designers and organise courses on production management in accordance with Total Quality Management (TQM) standards.
Over 130 businesses and 15 branches nationwide are expected to join the programmes.
Begining this year, businesses will be financed through State budget to take part in foreign exhibitions and fairs. It will cover costs for renting and decorating booths and organising workshops, Vitas said.
They will receive assistance to the extent of 50 percent of the costs of booths and 100 percent for advertisement for domestic exhibitions and fairs.
Total expenditure for air tickets and organisation of workshops and meetings will be forwarded once they join trade missions to conduct market research in other countries.
