Intermediate goods gained 4.4 percent and 4.3 percent respectively.
In the energy sector production grew by 3.2 percent in the euro area and by 1.4 percent in the EU25. Durable consumer goods increased by 2.7 percent and 4.6 percent respectively. Non-durable consumer goods grew by 2.2 percent in the euro area and by 2.8 percent in the EU25.
In March 2006, and among the Member States for which data are available, industrial production rose in all Member States. The highest increases were registered in Slovakia (+15.2 percent), Poland (+14.1 percent), Lithuania (+12.8 percent) and Latvia (+10.0 percent), and the lowest in the United Kingdom (+0.4 percent) and Sweden (+1.0 percent).
