The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) is now accepting registrations for the 74th Plenary Meeting since 1939 to be held in India’s financial capital of Mumbai.

Under the theme “From Farm to Fabric: The Many Faces of Cotton”, the Plenary Meeting will be held from December 6 to 11, 2015.

ICAC is organising the meeting in Mumbai at the invitation of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.

The theme "From Farm to Fabric: The Many Faces of Cotton" encompasses a broad range of topics, including mechanised picking, retailers’ views on cotton, international exchange of germplasm, sustainable production practices and use of cotton by-products.

Online registration is mandatory to attend the meeting, ICAC said in a statement.

ICAC is accepting two types of registrations—Member Official Delegates and Observers.

Plenary meetings of the ICAC provide a forum for the discussion of international issues of importance to the world cotton industry, and provide opportunities for industry and government leaders from producing, consuming and trading countries to consult on matters of mutual concern.

As the international commodity body for cotton and cotton textiles, the ICAC plays a crucial role in the achievement of broad objectives in the cotton industry, and ICAC invites all industry participants and government officials with a concern about the health of the sector to participate in ICAC activities.
