The Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Guangdong Province (GDDOFTEC) recently issued a notice requesting enterprises which have been allocated with the 2006 quantitative limits available for application regarding textile exports to the United States and the European Union to check out themselves whether quantitative limits allocated to them are correct through the issuance system of provisional textile exports before 20 June 2006.
Should there be any discrepancies, enterprises should report to the commerce departments of relevant municipalities, supplying information relating to their EID application and the confirmation letter for quantitative limits available for application.
Enterprises directly under the supervision of the Guangdong Province should report to the GDDOFTEC. Enterprises that fail to conduct the self-checking exercise by the deadline shall be deemed to have given up the provisional quantitative limits concerned.
For details of 2006 quantitative limits available for application in the first round and second round regarding textile exports to the United States and the European Union, please refer to CICs No. 390/2005 dated 23 September 2005, No. 504/2005 dated 2 December 2005 and No. 120/2006 dated 29 March 2006.
