The Inaugural Session of the 65th Plenary Meeting of the ICAC since 1939 will be held in three months. The theme of the 65th Plenary Meeting is The Social and Environmental Impacts of Cotton Production and Use.
This theme will provide an opportunity for constructive evaluation of the impacts of cotton production and consideration of better management practices that lead to improved social and environmental conditions.
The meeting will be held during September 11-15, 2006 in Goiânia, Goias, Brazil. The venue for the meeting will be the International Convention Center in Goiânia. The Government of Brazil in cooperation with the Brazilian cotton industry will host the meeting.

The International Cotton Advisory Committee(ICAC)is an association of 41 governments of countries with an interest in cotton. The Secretariat of the Committee publishes information related to world cotton production, supply, demand and prices, and provides technical information on cotton production technology.
Detailed statistics are found bimonthly in COTTON: Review of the World Situation, $170 per year via email, $210 per year in hard copy. A monthly outlook is available by email for $265 per year. Access to the latest weekly estimates of world cotton supply and use by the Secretariat is available on the Internet for $420 per year.
