Vinatex to go public by 2008

Vinatex recently announced its decision to equitize 13 state-owned subsidiaries by 2007.

Chairman of the textile organization, Le Quoc An, clarified that six of its subsidiary firms are scheduled to be equitzed this year with the remaining next year.

He also confirmed that Vinatex itself will be equitized by 2008.

Le Quoc further explained to the media that this move will help stimulate capital and motivate companies to better their performance.

Among the companies that will be listed on the stock market this year include renowned names like Duc Giang Garment Company, Garment Company No 10, Nha Be Garment Company and Viet Tien Garment Company

Group is looking to raise VND10 trillion or US $625 million for implementing its master development plan for 2010.

Textile exports in the first five months of 2006 reached $2 billion with Vinatex accounting for around 20 percent of it.
