ActionAid along with Leather and Footwear Association, LEFASO, have put up a united fight against the anti-dumping duties imposed by EC on Vietnamese footwear.

On June 19, both organisations officially announced a report with detailed effects of EC anti-dumping lawsuit on Vietnamese footwear industry.

Report presents harsh realities of the implication due to filing of the lawsuit on Vietnamese footwears workers in term of income and living conditions.

Survey included 21 enterprises from seven provinces of HCM city, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Hai Phong, Hanoi, Hai Duong and Ha Tay, that have exported leather capped–shoes to the EU.

In the report, ActionAid Vietnam and LEFASO called upon EC to reconsider their decision on the lawsuits on the basis of trade, equality and humanity, as lives of Vietnamese workers in footwear industry as well as its supporting ones would be affected seriously.
