Textile exports bidding on voluntary basis before July 31

Trade and Industry Department, Hong Kong (TID) announced that the Committee for Bid Invitation (the Committee) issued a notice on 28 June 2006, stipulating that enterprises may surrender the unused provisional quantitative limits of textile exports obtained through bidding to the Committee on a voluntary basis before 31 July 2006.

While such surrendered quantities will not be counted as wastage, the bid deposits will not be refunded. The payment for usage of the bidded quantities will however be refunded to the enterprises concerned.

Enterprises which wish to surrender the unused provisional quantitative limits of textile exports may submit the applications to the Committee through the electronic bidding system.

Help Hong Kong enterprises including small and medium enterprises (SMEs) enhance their competitiveness and add value to their products and services; safeguard the integrity and credibility of Hong Kong's trade regime;

And further develop staff skills, support structures and systems to enable the Department to meet new challenges.
