Textile Museum invites all to join them on Thursday, October 19 for the 2006 Tribute Dinner and George Hewitt Myers Award presentation honoring Josephine Powell and benefiting The Textile Museum.
His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey and Mrs. Nabi Sensoy are patrons of the event, to be held at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Washington, DC.
The highlight of the evening event will be the presentation of the 2006 George Hewitt Myers Award to Josephine Powell, an internationally renowned ethnographer, photographer and expert on nomadic weaving and traditions in Turkey.
Named for The Textile Museum's founder, the award recognizes her exceptional contributions to furthering the field of textile arts.
The Textile Museum is located at 2320 S Street NW, Washington, DC. Hours are Monday - Saturday 10 am - 5 pm, and Sunday 1 - 5 pm. Admission is free. For more information, visit the website.
