“The need for, and emergence of, new public-private sector partnerships have ushered in a transformation of government's role – from owner and provider, to facilitator and regulator,” he said.
To support the region, ADB provides direct financing for infrastructure and is working closely with its member governments to strengthen governance, create legal and regulatory environments, and build capacity to work as effective partners with the private sector.
“To meet the region's massive needs, we also mobilize private investment through direct financing to the private sector and use of innovative risk mitigation products,” he said.
