He previously won the Weaver Award in 1999 for “System for Automated Analysis of Carpet Dyebaths,” and the second place award in the graduate student section of the Herman and Myrtle Goldstein Student Paper Competition at the AATCC 1996 IC&E.
In February 1979, the AATCC established an annual award for the best peer-reviewed paper published in the Textile Chemist and Colorist (now AATCC Review). In 1990, the award was named for J. William Weaver (1916-1990), who was chair of the Textile Chemist and Colorist editorial board at the time of his death.
